What CloseDrill is.
A rep gets maybe forty real doors a day to learn from, and every one of them is a live lead they can burn. CloseDrill is where they burn practice doors instead.
The product, plainly
A rep picks a scenario, sets how hard they want it, and has a spoken conversation with an AI homeowner that argues, stalls and shuts the door. When the call ends, the conversation is transcribed and scored, and the rep gets a breakdown of what worked and the specific lines to fix.
- Three scenarios: a cold knock, a warm lead, and a booked appointment.
- Two dials: difficulty and homeowner aggression, applied to the persona at the start of each drill, so the same scenario can be a soft no or a slammed door.
- Seven scored dimensions: discovery, objection handling, acknowledging the no, the opener, pressure control, outcome and disengage, and tonality. They roll up into a single score from 1 to 100.
- Objective conversation metrics pulled straight from the transcript, such as talk ratio, longest monologue and filler words. These are counted, not judged.
- A team view: managers see their reps’ drills and a leaderboard, and can pin coaching notes to a moment in a recording.
- A field log: reps can upload audio from a real door so the team can study what actually got said.
Who it is for
Door-to-door solar reps, and the managers who have to ramp them. It is built for the ramp problem specifically: a new rep’s first month is spent learning on live territory, and every fumbled door is a lead nobody gets back.
What we will not claim
We have not run a controlled study on whether drilling here improves sit rates, close rates or revenue, so we do not publish a number for any of them. If you see one on this site, it is a mistake and we would like to know about it.
The score is an AI model’s opinion of a transcript. It is useful for spotting patterns across many drills and for giving a rep something concrete to work on. It is not a measurement instrument, and we do not think it should decide anyone’s pay or job. That position is written into our terms, not just this page.
On recordings
CloseDrill records an employee’s voice, stores it, transcribes it, and shows the resulting score to their manager. That is the product working as intended, and it is exactly the kind of thing a company should read the fine print on before enrolling a team. The privacy policy states what is captured, who can see it, and how to get it deleted, in that order and without hedging.
